1. Go to apple iconin upper left corner of monitor-> select "Control Panels" -> Extensions Manager.

2. In the pull down menu next to "Selected Set:" drag your mouse to select "Miro."

3. RESTART the machine.

Control Strip

1. Open your control strip and click on the Miro button (to the right of the sound button)

2. Select either "Play Movies on Video," or "View Movies on Monitor." The first allows you to view your work on the VCR/TV monitor. The second of the two allows you to view your work on the computer monitor.

3. Select "NTSC Device Attached." NTSC: National Television System Committee, is the body responsible for the NTSC video signal standard in North America.

You must always set the correct output video standard, NTSC or PAL, when creating a movie with Premiere's "Make Movie" (command M) function as well as when outputting video to a TV or VCR. When you make a movie or create a preview, "View movies on monitor" must be selected. Otherwise your movie will contain gray images. Occasionally the switching from "View Movies on Monitor" to "Play Movies on Video" is not executed immediately. In this case, move the active video window to a position where it is not obscured by other windows.

Video Capture

If these don't show up, check if the files 'miroMOTION DC20', 'miroMOTION DC20 QT' and '~miroMOTION DC20 Init' exist in the folder 'Extensions' within your system folder.

If they are there correctly and Premiere still doesn't show the new options after restart, restart your computer again holding the 'Command-Option-P-R' keys simultaneously. CAUTION: This will reset the settings of some control panels.

1. Open Adobe Premiere Software. A "New Projects Presets" dialog box will appear.

2. Select the format size you want to create your video project in. Make sure it is one of the "miro DC20 NTSC" formats. The movie's size is limited to the amount of free memory available. Remember the larger the size, the more memory is being used.

3. Click "OK."

4. Cue up your video tape on the VCR unit. Give yourself at least 5 seconds of preroll.

5. Go to FILE-> Capture->Movie Capture.

6. Check your "Movie Capture Options," make necessary selections.

7. Roll tape and get ready to record!

8. Click the "RECORD BUTTON" to capture your video footage.

9. To STOP RECORDING, click on your mouse at anytime.

10. Your capture clip is now untitled. Save your file. Go to FILE-> Save As. Name your file. That's it! You are finished. If you do not like what you have captured, "trash it" and make another one.

FYI
If you've selected 'miro DC20' as video source and 'miro DC20 Rec' as compressor and there's still no image in the video window, make sure that:

- the video source is switched on
- the tape is playing
- it's not an empty tape
- the cable from the video source to the DC20 is connected correctly
- the correct input (Composite / S-Video) is selected
- the right standard (NTSC / PAL / SECAM) is selected
- the filter is set to VCR
