Course Outline ACG 132

Students in this class are encourged to produce unique art as part of their portfolio. Another area is to explore the mixing of traditional and computer techniques. This summer we will do an in-depth study of the leading program for raster graphics, Adobe Photoshop. Use of digital cameras is also recommended for images to be used in assignments.

Whatever your interests may be, I will help you find the best selection of digital media to match your artistic vision and unique talents.

Scan a 2"x3" image to be placed in your paragraph document.	Write a 100 words paragraph explaining the advantages and disadvantages of raster images. Place your scanned image in your paragraph document. Save and print your document.

Day 4	Review Painting & Editing Painting & filling images with color Setting up a painting or editing tool Painting with a selection Erasing Filling with the paint bucket tool Using custom brushes Air brushing and smudging Creating gradients Creating Soft edge effects (fade option) Painting with textures Defining a brush Erasing	Create an artwok by tracing and colorizing an image. Take advantage of "layers" when adding color to your image. Colorize a b&w image using the techniques discussed in the class. Print ad in color.	Organize your printed work in your book.
