Course Outline ACG 132

Students in this class are encourged to produce unique art as part of their portfolio. Another area is to explore the mixing of traditional and computer techniques. This summer we will do an in-depth study of the leading program for raster graphics, Adobe Photoshop. Use of digital cameras is also recommended for images to be used in assignments.

Whatever your interests may be, I will help you find the best selection of digital media to match your artistic vision and unique talents.

Explore Desktop and Dock, Where things are? Locate printers, scanners, other computers, and servers.

Locate and Print course outline,

Find OSX Help. Review your understanding of the file structure and finding your way on network.

Scan a 2"x3" image to be placed in your paragraph document.

 

Write a 100 words paragraph explaining the advantages and disadvantages of raster images.

Place your scanned image in your paragraph document.

Save and print your document.

Create an artwok by tracing and colorizing an image. Take advantage of "layers" when adding color to your image.

Colorize a b&w image using the techniques discussed in the class.

Print ad in color.

Organize your printed work in your book.

Practice drawing straight and curved paths using pen tool

Day 10

Combining Illustrator Graphics & Photoshop images
Differentiate between bitmapped and vector graphics
Placing Adobe Illustrator graphics in Photoshop file
Scaling placed graphics
Distorting placed graphics to match the perspective of a photograph
Applying different blending modes to a graphic
Export paths to Illustrator
Export Transparent Image in Photoshop

Create a logo using Photoshop's vector tools.
